My Ear keeps hitting the Mute button.

I have had iPhones since the very first.. I am so distressed with the new i4, I just cant believe it.
I keep muting calls with my ear. The touch screen is too sensitive. The other issue is the phone locks up all the time, whats the deal with this?

My activation too 6 hrs. Apple get your stuff together. My phone's going back tomorrow. 😟 back to the 3GS till they get it right.

Has anyone had problems with their phone book after upgrading? My Contacts got all jumbled up.
Wrong names with numbers, Photos with wrong contacts.. THIS *****.

I was having the same problem as all of you, muting calls with my face or ear. I just called apple support, and he had me reset my phone (holding the power button and home button until the white apple came on) he also asked me about my case and screen protector. If your case or screen protector cover up the sensor (to the left of the speaker) then that can cause problems. Mine did and it was a mirror screen protector, after I took it off I have had no problems.

I also have same issue, I either hit the mute (by accident of course) or the key pad... people sometimes complain that I am typing on my phone.
I like the idea of hitting the home button. But we shouldn't have to get to that trouble. The icons (mute, keypad, speaker, etc) shouldn't be automatically on the screen when you are on a call. It should be maybe a small icon on the bottom of the screen that would take you to all the other icons. Just a suggestion for Apple!

My Ear keeps hitting the Mute button.
