"Cannot connect to iTunes Store" - iPhone 4

Same problem. iphone 4 won't connect to itunes store, app store or ibooks, but my old iphone 3G (currently in use by husband) does. However, my safari and email works/connects just fine. Grrr... nothing but problems with this thing since the minute I opened the box. Missing my 3G!!

This may have something to do with the wider iphone 4 antenna problems. I was having this problem while holding the phone, but almost all issues went away as soon as I put it on the table.

I'm having this same problem, and it's really annoying!
I tried rebooting, toggling airplane mode, logging in and out of my itunes account etc...

I've already done a full backup and sync with desktop itunes several times, and everything else seems to work fine. Phone calls, safari, email, apps already installed...all work fine. Just the app store and itunes store are having trouble.

Same problem here. 2 new iphone 4's. Both setup on same mac with same apple id. One connects now problem but despite repeated attempts the other will not. All other functions except iTunes and app store working fine.

I'm having the same problem on my 3GS after upgrading to iOS4 - I can't access the App Store, iTunes or iBooks. I sometimes get the following error message at the link below as well:

I can definitely confirm that I have the same issue over and over on my iPhone 4.

I am having the same exact issue, but ONLY while on 3G. No problems when on wi-fi. I'm also having other issues as well with the iOS4 on my 3GS. I really wish that there was a way to return to 3.1.3! It was pretty stable for me!

Same issue here. I can't connect to the app store. Get an error that says can't connect and that I have one update available but i don't have any. I signed out of my apple id and now I can't sign back in by it on the iphone 4. getting a little frustrating

I'm having the same issue with my new iPhone 4. App Store and iTunes store both work fine over WiFi but only work very sporadically over 3G. If I'm not holding the phone, it improves somewhat but certainly doesn't fix it.

Same problem here. Haven't been able to access to App Store since I got the iPhone 4. Keep getting "Cannot connect to iTunes store". I have tried everything, logging in and out, hard reset, syncing with iTunes - nothing works. I called support multiple time - it still isn't fixed. I have repeatedly tried to access the App Store on my iPhone 4 and on my friend's 3GS. His works fine everytime, yet my iPhone 4 can hardly ever connect. Very frustrating and dissapointing. I may have to return and go back to my 3GS - much more reliable in my opinion.

I am having the same problem. Everything works fine over WiFi, but when I am on 3G, the iTunes, App and iBooks stores work intermittently. Most of the time they don't work at all.

I have the problem on both 3G and WiFi...

I tried syncing my iphone 4 tonight and I get a message ( this iphone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then install itunes again. ) I've done this three times in a row now and just keep getting same message. It worked fine last week.

This thread seems to be less about solutions and more about reporting the issue - which I'm sad to say I have the same with my iPhone 4. On 3G it will not connect to iTunes, Apple Store App, or App Store.

This phone is frustrating me.
