"Cannot connect to iTunes Store" - iPhone 4

My iPhone 4 won't connect to iTunes (Sometimes it does, most of the time it won't). I have full signal strength on 3G network. I never had a problem connecting with my 3GS iPhone.

Anyone else on here having issues with connecting to ITunes Store (App store) via your new iPhone 4?

Also, I'm posting this message from my iPhone 4 now and it's taking a few tries because I keep getting the following message: "Cannot Open Page. Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found"

Wonder what's wrong??

I'm having the same issue when I'm not on wifi. I actually tried to respond to this post on Friday on my iPhone 4, but I kept getting the error "Cannot Open Page. Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found" every time I tried and just gave up. Today I took the phone to an Apple Store and it was replaced. The new phone seems to work much better with Google Maps and browsing the Internet, but the first time (and almost every time after that) that I open the App Store I get the error "Cannot connect to iTunes store."

When I get the error and immediately close the App Store and open up Safari I can usually browse the web, so it's not a connection issue. If I then go back to the App Store, usually the page I was trying to load will start to load (a fraction of a second) but the error will pop up over the page and then the loading stops.

I don't know what the fix for this could be aside from an OS patch (my 3GS has no issues), but I hope something comes out soon as this is just about unusable.

I too am having the same issue with my iphone 4. I can sit my 3G right next to it and the 3G will connect over both the cellular network or wifi, but the iphone 4 will not connect. Just gives the can not connect to itunes store message. Sometimes it will all of the sudden connect and then drop for no apparent reason as well...

When you get that message you are having problems transferring data from the phone to the tower. Or the tower is having problems transmitting out. First you need to determine which. Call ATT and see if a tower is having issues in your area. Be aware that JUST because you have 4 or 5 bars that transmission is okie dokie. I am curious as to the areas you guys are in. Do any of you know the "footprint" of your tower in which you are on? Yes, if you know whom to talk to at ATT you can find out. And this can often help you solve this as well as other issues. There is also an umbrella effect on some towers. However, please let me know if switching to another tower solves your current problems.

For me (and I'd suspect others in this thread since we're not all neighbors), the issue happens on the iPhone 4 and not the 3GS. Is it possible to have two phones next to each other and they both connect to different towers? If it is, how often does this happen, that we all can repeat the App Store opening on our 3GS but not our 4? Shouldn't it once in awhile swap to not working on the 3GS if we're randomly connecting to towers? This issue isn't when I'm just at home. On a trip from CT to Philly I experienced it the entire way down, and again on a trip from Philly to lower DE. This isn't a once in awhile incident, it's 98% of the time I open the App Store on the 4.

I to have this same problem. But it is with the IPhone 3GS 32 gig.. I see everyone is just talking about the IPhone 4. But it seems to have affected mine also.. I had an update available for an app. and when you go to the apps store a popup says cannot connect to itunes store... Just noticed this today, but i was in the app store last week and all was fine.. Im gonna have to look into this, but i wanted you all to know your not alone on this one....

I had this problem once on my 3GS the day I got my new phone, but I thought it might have been just losing service to that phone that was the problem. I ended up getting to the app I wanted by opening the App Store from Safari.

I just now had the same problem with my 4, and again was able to open the App Store from Safari.

Both phones had iOS4 installed and both were connected to WiFi. Has to be some sort of issue with iOS4, I'm guessing. And it's not all the time, so maybe a multitasking issue? Though closing the App Store does not fix the problem. I'm 99.9999999999999999999999% sure this is not a 'tower problem' or a problem with the antenna, this is a software issue when the App Store is being opened.

Restoring may be a short-term fix, but this obviously a software problem. Something that's easily fixed, Apple just needs to get on it.

Hi!, it's good(?) to see that I'm not the only one with this problem. I'm using a 3GS phone, and since I upgraded to iOS4, this issue appeared... It happens with the iTunes Store and other apps too... our of nowhere, my eBuddy app will say that I have no Internet connection (when on 3G with full bars), this also happens with my MobiTv app, my "Periodico Reforma" app, etc, etc. Out of nowhere the iPhone thinks it has no connectivity, although it's clear this did not happen with the previous OS version, and testing from the same location.

When this issue happens, sometimes I'm even able to open Safari and browse to any web page, while the rest of the apps still report no Internet connectivity.

Apple, any acknowledgment of this problem?
