"Cannot connect to iTunes Store" - iPhone 4

My iPhone 4 won't connect to iTunes (Sometimes it does, most of the time it won't). I have full signal strength on 3G network. I never had a problem connecting with my 3GS iPhone.

Anyone else on here having issues with connecting to ITunes Store (App store) via your new iPhone 4?

Also, I'm posting this message from my iPhone 4 now and it's taking a few tries because I keep getting the following message: "Cannot Open Page. Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found"

Wonder what's wrong??

I finally fixed it on my 3GS, and it seems to be an issue with the iBooks app, at least in my case. Here's the steps I took:
1. Uninstall iBooks and accept the data removal prompt.
2. Plug iPhone into PC and then reinstall iBooks again via iTunes on your PC. Obviously, sync your phone.
3. Go into iBooks and you should now be able to access the book store. Look for the sign out option and touch it. Ignore all prompts by iBooks to sign back in, just keep tapping cancel and then close the app.
4. Open up the App Store app and you should now be able to do so without any errors. You should also be able to sign into your iTunes account from within the App Store without error as well.

For now, I'm going to stay away from the iBooks app 😐

Had the problem for a couple weeks. Fixed it by doing the following:

- Go into iTunes
- Sync any recently purchased songs, apps, etc.
- Click on Restore
- It may ask you if you want to back up first - Click yes!
- Be sure to choose restore from back-up - Do not choose restore to new!
- Select your most current back-up - Don't worry, the bug does not propagate into the back-up.
- Leave your iPhone hooked up to iTunes until the restore is complete
- The problem should be gone

Hey guys, here's what fixed it for me, after a week of searching. Quick and easy!
1. go into settings / store (down the bottom).
2. click on sign out.
3. go back to the app store app and sign back in - it works!
Enjoy.

That worked for me the first time it happened, but not the second time it happened 😟

Yes, logging in and out doesn't work, neither does resetting your network settings or doing a hard reset. If you want to fix the problem permanently, follow my instructions above. I struggled with this for weeks, and the restore from back-up did the trick. If for some strange reason that doesn't work (though it did for me), then call and make an appt and take it to the Apple Store.

The below didn't work for me... only having problems connecting over 3g, no problems with wifi. My phone is now intermittently connecting with the store (doesn't connect way more often than it does). Phone is on the desk and I can see the ATT tower out of my office window.

I had the same problem with a recently upgraded iPhone 3GS. It turns out that the source of the problem (at least in my case) was the parental control in iTunes (on my mac). For some reason after upgrading to version 9 I had the access to iTunes store disabled.
To fix this open iTunes and go to preferences --> Parental --> uncheck iTunes store.
