"Cannot connect to iTunes Store" - iPhone 4

FYI: I have solved my problem. Realizing every app was working bad over wifi I turned to my router. After changing mode to "b only" it works flawless. Guess I have to upgrade my hardware, people are reporting that N-mode works best in 20 mhz though, not over dual band.

Try turning off wifi and connecting via 3G for your first connection. After that WiFi should work.

Yep, I concur. Could not connect via Wifi after activation, but could with 3G. Once connected, no problems with Wifi connecting.

Oh, my gosh......I also encounter the similar situation with my iPhone...APPLE, pls spend more money on the function of ur product rather than its fashionable design.....

Having the same problem, I go into itunes on my iphone 4 and if I try to purchase something a message pops up saying "cannot connect to itunes store" Well great. Sometimes it works when I turn the phone off and back on. Apple is shooting themselves in the foot here.

I am also experiencing this problem and I can confirm that it is happening on WLAN as well as I hardly use 3G.

I am having the same problem with my 3gs. When I try to update I get a "Cannot Connect with iTunes Store" message. I have reinstalled my iPhone with the back-up and "create new iPhone" option; deleted the Apps that were to be updated both on my computer and iPhone - now, two days later, I have ten I can't update; I have signed in and out of my account and have reentered my financial information on my computer and iPhone - no luck! I can install from my computer or iPhone - but I cannot update from the update icon. HELP!!!

I'm having the same problem and found this discussion because I'm looking for a soln. I cannot access iTunes even with my phone resting on a table with all AT&T bars up and on a wi-fi connection.
Another prob with the phone is that when I push the bottom center button, it is very variable as to whether or not my menu and slide bar will pop up and work. I upgraded from the original iPhone. My iPhone4 is a much less reliable product and a disappointment.

I'm having the same exact issue. Weather it's wifi, or 3G it's shootin blanks when it comes to the iTunes store.
It's real frustrating not being able to get apps on the go... I hope apple gets this fixed, because it's annoying having to shop for apps on my pc, and then sync them to the phone...

After almost giving up on the app store I finally fixed my problem.First and foremost I reinstalled ibooks through itunes after deleting it. After that I looked at my apps that needed to be updated in the app store and deleted them as well. Thats it, after that I was able to update newly synced apps and download new ones as well. Im not sure if unsyncing and then syncing my apps had anything to do with it but it might help as well.

I'm having the same problem with my 3Gs, since I updated to 4.0.1. All was fine until I did the update. Support wants to charge me $29 to "speak to an expert". This is bull.

I can always connect to the iTunes store, however I'll still receive this error. For instance, when I open the App Store, it'll give me the error, but if I look behind it, it'll still show everything loaded correctly such as checking for updated apps. Any ideas why this happens?
