Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Why so many issues?

Why is it that every iPhone or Apple product that hits the market after so many months of testing has so many issues?

I think Apple needs to have an internal screening process for which engineers test the new products, maybe leave out the ones that go to the bar and get drunk and forget the product they are suppose to be testing.

I do not see other companies of this caliber have problems with every single product that is released. Sure some, but not all.

Cracking plastic on 3G, wait a year and bring out the 3Gs with the same plastic, there is something seriously wrong with that alone, simply genius. Not to mention the MacBooks used the same plastic and had the same cracking years before the iPhone 3G came out.

Now the iPhone 4 with reception issues, how did that get by without being noticed?

Are you telling me that the hairline crack issue that plagued the MacBooks and affected every iPhone 3G and 3GS is acceptable?

The issue was admitted by apple by extending the MacBook warranty so what brilliant Apple exec decided to use the same plastics on the 3G and 3Gs and then deny it's an issue with these products.

Lame, very lame.

Y'all can say whatever you want but this phone is one big piece of turd. And while my son is running his 3GS flawlessly, my 4 is crashing, freezing, disconnecting, dropping call, not zooming, and not cooperating! And all that in Retina Display crispyness. I don't want to return it but I might have to.

Normally I never buy a product when it first comes out for this same reason, working out the bugs but I was excited for this product(i've have the first model 6 months after it came out, my wife has the 3G and I also got the 3GS plus 2 macbooks) since Apple has really never let me down. I'm upset. Seriously.

@ PR0PH37 maybe you did get a piece of junk, but if you have all of those issues go trade it in. I don't have one issue with mine, instead of bashing, report the problems and go trade it in. Maybe you will still be stuck with a reception issue but for the time being it's get a case or Zagg skin on the sides or return it.

It's normal around here for the release of a new iPhone, problems like crazy there is a certain manufacuring error rate and some human error. I would be mad too if my new iPhone wasn't working properly but people act like freaking spoiled kids.

It's very frustrating to come to this sight to read about what other people are experiencing and get bashed by the fanboys. Ask a question or make a comment that puts apple in any sort of bad light is met with criticism and smart assed remarks. All I can tell you is to try to ignore them. I think other companies have just as many problems but apple is in the spotlight more and they put themselves on a pedestal. They make great products that are far from perfect, but hardly go out of their way to admit when they're wrong. Unfortunately, as long as people continue to buy...it'll keep happening. They just make cool stuff. Web with the problems...it's still cooler than the competition. That being said, I'm giving it a couple of weeks an then possibly taking mine back. The antenna issue aside, I still have the same crappy AT&T reception. I had hopes that the external antenna would help thy issue. Oh well. Good luck posting

And now camera problems. The reason why Apple is having so many problems is that Steve Jobs lives in the world called denial.

A shift in white balance does not mean there are camera "problems" - apple shifted the white point on their second generation phone to a warmer setting with the goal of more natural looking photos... I'm sure this shift in the white point again (obviously warmer again) is to compensate for the rather harsh very cool light of the LED flash - the LED is a different type of light source than most cameras use. Take a portrait with the flash directed straight at the person and you will see that when using LED instead of getting red eye, you get white eye.

On the iPhone 4, the color rendition with the flash is beautiful - I shot a lot of video as well as a bunch of indoor stills with it and the color was great, very vivid and no wash out that is common with a lot of compact video units. It's quite possible that the white point was also adjusted for FaceTime which also delivers beautiful color correct live video.

If you knew anything about photography, lighting and/or color, and color rendition indices you would know this.

No phone has a full featured camera, which allows you to adjust the white point for each photo, as do many cameras. They are sophisticated PHONES with simple cameras, not sophisticated CAMERAs with simple phones. Choices have to be made. People wanted a flash, so apple added a flash... of course they would have to adjust the white point to accommodate that additional feature.

Too,there are , many apps, and many free ones at that which will allow you to color shift your photo right there in the phone to correct for the different lighting conditions in which we take photos.

If you want a more sophisticated camera, where you or it can set the white point for each picture, go BUY A CAMERA. Why would you expect to get a more sophisticated camera, that costs hundreds of dollars on its own (and needless to point out that NO ONE has yet figured out how to cram into such a small package), inside a phone that only cost $199?

Better yet, use the money to trade in your simple brain for a more sophisticated one.... and maybe we'll all get a break from the incessant whining and disparaging remarks that don't help anyone experiencing real issues integrating their mobile device into their existing data networks...

Why so many issues?
