I do not use any other calendar to save important information other than the calendar on my iphone. when i upgraded to the new version iOS4 ALL of my appointments were gone- my calendar was cleaned out. Again, i do not use gmail or any other calendar except the one on my iphone. I did everything it told me to do so i dont understand why my appts are now gone. can someone please help me! is there anyway to get them back??!!
I am glad that I am not the only one with this problem, but not pleased at all that Apple has not offered a fix yet. I responded to a similar thread on Jul 18 and there has been no response from Apple!
I can't believe this! I wonder what I'm going to miss without my calendar? And all the history that I use to go back to! And today I even tried calling support and they originally wanted to charge me $29 for the call for this issue. I complained so much that it wasn't my fault and I didn't feel I should be charged and when they couldn't find a solution, they didn't charge me. I would much rather pay the stupid $29 and have my calendar back!!!
i am glad that I am not the only one that has the problem..
I did read about the problems with OS4 with the old iPhone but the bloody thing updated itself without my permission!!!
i still have calender but it keep replacing my iphone calender events with the ones on imac... not happy.. it doesn't seem to sync address book properly either..
BIG PROBLEM!!! i thought it was meant to be an UPGRADE!
I keep my calendar and contacts in company Exchange server. When I upgraded to iOS 4, I did "NEW" install. Re-established Exhange later and all cal events, mails and contact reappeared again. Was very simple and easy.
I too lost ALL of my events in my calendar! I have tried EVERYTHING! HELP! This is totally ridiculous! Also, I lost some of my ringtones that I purchased on my phone! SOOOO IRRITATED!
I updated my iPhone from iOS 4.0.1 to iOS 4.0.2 this morning and the calendar on my Mac overwrote the one on my phone. When I noticed this, I plugged it back in to the Mac, which initiated Sync. Then, when I tried to restore, I only had the option to restore to the backup that just happened. There are files in /Users//Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup from this morning, but I don't know how to make iTunes use them for the update.
My iPhone calendar went blank as well. Just cleared completely. I first noticed a problem when working on one of my PC's and it asks for permission to delete several hundred calendar entries. I say "no" and then go backup my pst files immediately in case it decides to do them a handful at a time.
Note: I have not upgraded or changed any settings in weeks. I have OS 4.0.1 on the 3GS phone but that update was done a while back.
I've turned off MobileMe. It was good while it lasted but I can't afford this kind of stuff going on. It's just scary for it to have the ability to clear all appointments and contacts... and actually DO it.
So far as I can tell it hasn't cleared any Contacts.
Any idea if this problem is fixed with the OS 4.0.2? I have not upgraded yet as I am worried that it would make matters worse. And why hasn't anyone from Apple address this problem? Or is there another discussion thread going on elsewhere??
I was mad when I realized my appointments were gone but I was IRATE when I came here looking for a way to get them back and discovered this is an ongoing issue that hasn't been addressed. ***? I get to spent my day tomorrow calling my boss, clients, employees, Dr.s etc. to get appointment info. Thanks Apple.
Add me to the list of unhappy Apple customers who is having the same problem and now at risk of missing meetings and appointments while hoping they find a solution!
Yep, you can add me to the list as well. Everything from my iPhone calendar deleted - not happy as my whole life was in there.
Oh, and tried to restore from backup but the only backup it will let me restore from was taken after they were all deleted. Spent hours trying to get the stuff back but to no avail.
This is so annoying, I have no way of getting some of this information back.
I have upgraded software to latest version 4.02 which has not fixed the problem.
Yes, add me to the list of disgruntled iPhone 3Gs users who have had their calendars wiped since upgrading to iOS4. It seems totally illogical to me that priority is given to the calendar on the computer, since it is one's iPhone one has with one most of the time - I just want to be able to keep a back-up on the computer.
I'm having the exact same problem and I have had no luck with factory restore. I even tried to set up an Exchange calendar and the phone calendar program just won't respond. Furthermore, I can't even add an event because it says I do not have a calendar set. Whenever I try to restore from iTunes and sync the phone, I get an error that says my calendars are in use. After this I disabled the calendar program in the multitasking option but still no luck. I'm using iOS 4.0.2 and iTunes 9.2.1. Has anyone figured out a fix yet?
How was it that media attention was called to the lost signal issue so quickly, and none has been paid to this -- which is infinitely more distressing!
My issues aside with losing all the important events of my life by doing what I thought was the right thing -- backing up/synching my phone -- I saw a discussion thread where someone said they lost all manner of medical appointments, etc. This is a life-threatening issue. It needs to be addressed, VERY PUBLICLY before more people sync and lose their calendars.
If Apple can't fix it, they should say so!!! You will lose many more customers than this if you don't come out with a solution. I am making it my personal business to make sure the media knows about this. PLEASE JOIN ME!
