iPhone 4 + iMovie = Crashes the iMovie App and does not export...

Hello fellow Apple Customers,

I recently purchased iMovie for the iPhone 4 and I am having some issues I can't seem to resolve. When I try to export a project to either Medium 360p, Large or HD 720P the application starts exporting but the exporting bar just freeze and then the iMovie application crashes, sometimes it even reboots the iPhone.

Anyone have any idea what is going on? I noticed that this happens if the project is longer than 43 seconds, if the project is less then 43 seconds then it successfully exports my projects into my camera roll but if the project is longer than 43 seconds it does not and even causes the app. to crash.

I am dissapointed in the performance of the iMovie on the iPhone 4, everything else works flawlessly with the iPhone.

Incredibly fast trn around for this fix. Kudos to the iMovie guys. Works like charm for me every time now. Now if you can just mail me my free bumper, thanks 😉

Just have to say thanks Apple. I'm impressed. I thought at first they weren't going to fix this for months. Excited now.

Also when can we get more themes? That would be nice.

I upgraded to 1.0.1 but now the export just hangs instead of crashing the app. Anyone else having this issue? I've tried creating new projects, uninstalling the app, re-installing and no luck. Also, since the upgrade I have noticed that video clips added to the movie in the middle don't display the video picture, just a black screen.

Hi, I hope I have a fix for you, I was experiencing the exact same issue. To resolve it I opened my project and clicked on any video. that will then give your the yellow dots to adjust the timing, Simply adjust them. Only one should do the trick. Once that is done export it right away.

Hi. I had most of the problems shown in this forum... and another one. Anyone noticed that *when you try to shorten or enlarge the lenght of a clip some other, usually a previous one, changes its lenght ramdomly???*
I was quite happy with iMovie for iphone, I managed to create a 3 minutes clip and export it HD with no problem. But now I'm a bit ****** off. Problems with music track, problems with clips icons in timeline, some clips missing when I play a preview...
I have deleted and reinstalled the app and it's the same.
Does anyone have a solution???

FIX!

Well, we were having trouble exporting in iMovie on the ipod touch 4g. It continually crashed... we changed the auto lock and it still messed up.
However, it worked flawlessly when we kept the ipod in our hand and touched the screen every 30 seconds to a minute or so. Seems like that kept the app awake and it finally processed the 10 minute video. Took a while, but worked great!

I'm having the same issue with the iPad2. It freezes when I try to export an 8 minute movie I made.

I also have an iPad 2. 11 minute movie, same problem. The export crashes everytime at one of 3 different progress-bar places. Maybe I should export to itunes and try rendering it on my phone?

Same issue with my iPad 2! Does not export and does not optimize. In fact I can't see it full screen!

Should I give up using this app?!
