Error 1004 while trying to restore my iPhone 4

So I wanted to restore my iPhone 4 cause it wouldnt sync my apps and now every time I connect my phone to the itunes it keeps giving me the error 1004 during the restore."The iphone "Iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (1004)." 😟 does anyone know what should I do?

I think Adobe will come get you soon for having a pirated CS 🙂.

Try copying the HOSTS file to your desktop (backup), delete the original file, and then try to restore. After you're done, copy the HOSTS file back. Don't run any Adobe while your HOSTS file is removed or they may get inactivated.

Just as an FYI, in case anyone else is searching for this and fixing your HOSTS file on your Mac doesn't work, you (or someone who used your computer) may have used the 'dscl' command.

This command seems to create entries in a different database which seem to supercede your HOSTS file.

Example:

sudo dscl localhost -create /Local/Default/Hosts/host.something.com IPAddress 1.2.3.4

If that was used, you could try

sudo dscl localhost -list /Local/Default/Hosts IPAddress

and if anything shows up, you could remove it with the

sudo dscl localhost -delete /Local/Default/Hosts/host.something.com IPAddress 1.2.3.4
