My iphone 4G works perfectly!

I just wanted to offset some of the complaints on this board so people who are nervous about the phone will know it is a good buy. I haven't had any issues at all with my phone. No yellow screen, no reduced reception (i am using the black bumper) and no problems with the camera shutter or email operations. All my functions work perfectly, speakerphone is loud, headphones are clear, and the battery life is great. I guess my question would be am I the only person who has never had any problems with an iphone? Because this forum makes it seem like they are guaranteed to have issues when they usually dont. Just sayin...

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.6.4), iPhone 4G

That may be true and possibly because I'm not having the problems others are having. The thing is this Apple may not see it as an issue other the normal manufacturing problems and they see it as exchange it and be done. I have seen the videos so I know it's a real problem but what I don't see is grown ups acting like grown ups, they are acting like spoiled kids who do not know how to control emotions and conduct business.. That's all I'm saying, if it's a situation where people can not exchange phones then that's a bummer... But if they can and chose not to then shame on them. It would be different if everyone or even 100's of thousands of people are having this problem but it is not, it honestly seems to be concentrates overseas so I'm thinking where those phones came from were the problem but still stop whining about it and proactively get an exchange if you can not then rerun the phone and wait for a new batch to arrive. Please can we do that and call truce here? If not then continue on and fight the good fight..... Hope you guys get it fixes honestly I would hate to be one of those who are having this problem.....

I think you just became my new personal hero.

In a perfect world, I would agree with those who assert that This Should Not Be. But, hey... it's a cellular device which utilizes a radio signal. There are bound to be a few bumps in the road.

Fact of business is that:

1. This phenomena apparently affects only a relative few of the total iPhone4s that have been sold/that are out there. The vast majority of people are completely happy with their purchase (are lovin' it, etc).

2. Among those who do have phones which exhibit this phenomena, the whole thing is a non-issue because either they were planning on sticking it in a case anyway, or they don't tend to grip their phones like a chimp. And so they, too, are quite happy with their new iPhone4s.

That leaves behind a vociferous few who steadfastly refuse to change a thing about their phone holding habits - even as a temporary measure - and who are expecting a device which, in all conditions, has perfect reception right out of the box, and who are now demanding that Apple "do something" to make them warm and fuzzy-feeling.

How fast do you think Apple is gonna move on this?

The reason you people aren't having reception/antenna problems is the fact you're close or in line of sight with a cell tower. By covering the bottom of the phone, you're still degrading the signal, but it's powerful enough in the area not to matter.

I was in the underground garage two stories deep and with barely a bar of signal.
Still I could make a call with black gap covered. I understand it must be comforting and give more hope for the solution to assume that ALL phones are affected but, sorry, in reality it's not.

Those of us who live far from a tower or already get mediocre reception (even though it says 5 bars doesn't mean its at the best link) have to suffer.

So don't suffer:

1. Don't cover these 2-3 mm. Move your pinkie a little and you are all set. How hard is that?

2. Put a bumper, a film, a case, a piece of scotch over the gap.

3. Use your 30 day return period. Return it. Wait or get Android.

But please stop self-inflicted "suffering". Real suffering si something different and world is full of it.

I'll trade with u and take it to my local Apple store and get it exchanged and have a working device. See very simple, no arguing, no ranting, no lost brain cells from blood pressure boiling over... That's being a grown up! Get over it man, we understand that your phone is useless, just go and exchange it and I'm pretty sure u won't have to pay a restocking fee when u can prove to them first hand that the device won't work when you touch it.....

Dude. This is a major design flaw/ and-or/ software flaw affecting a HUGE number of users. Otherwise it would not be making INTERNATIONAL headlines... with national news anchors laughing.

I ADORE Apple. But this is an inexcusable situation. When you pick up your iPhone and it turns into a brick, that's a problem. So glad yours is working well. Now, go read the facts on forums, newspapers and watch a little TV. Good Grief!

You can return or exchange the phone or you can try to hold it a little bit different. There's plenty of easy choices.

klopus. One should not have to 'point a pinky finger' to make a phone call. Catch a clue.

Jason, Jason. Have you seen BBC, CNN, NBC, The New York Times, The Washington Post plus every major blog? Thousands of people are having SEVERE problems. Please post solutions and not insults. For Heaven's Sake!!!

It's a big darn deal, dude.

+"....with national news anchors laughing."+

Is that what's really bothering you... the idea that you're being laughed at?

Exchange the phone.

Or get your money back and buy a different brand.

Or buy a bumper/case.

Or hold your fingers just a little differently while waiting for the fix (which is surely coming).

Sorry, but this situation doesn't rise to the level of hardship and catastrophe to which people are ascribing.

My iphone 4G works perfectly!
