Captured Video Disapeared????

Hi ive always used finalcut pro but since the tape i was capturing had no timecode i had to use imovie so i really dont know what im doing but i tried anyways so what happened was i imported my tape on a no name tape and i didnt save it or anything but just exited out when i was done thinking it would be put in a folder but i cant find it. Are these files deleted??
