Okay, so I am a MAJOR research junkie when it comes to finding the best of something. I had the OtterBox Defender Case on my 3G and my 3GS and both of my girls have one for their iPod Touches. My phone was dropped, kicked, thrown, dropped some more, rained on, dropped in puddles... you get the idea... and it still looked brand new without a single scratch or scuff anywhere on it.

According to a recent reply by OtterBox to a question on their own Facebook page, they won't give an exact release date, but their goal is to definitely get them out before the end of July. It sounded like they're aiming for the next couple of weeks.

That said, I also found the Ballistic HC case that Ballistic will be selling on their own website and AT&T stores will exclusively carry. The manager at our local AT&T Corporate store said she expects to get them in sometime next week and on Ballistic's Facebook page, they replied to a question that they will have them for sale on their website on July 12th.

Both will come in several colors but will probably roll out initially in black only. I will be getting a pink one but will probably just get the black ones to hold me over.

In the meantime, I have a Zagg screen protector and an Incipio Silicrylic.

The inside of the Vapor case is lined with a very high tech shock absorbing material that reduces the G-forces of an impact. It also creates
a non-conductive barrier to help maintain the iPhone's antenna signal strength.

So, don't you worry on the signal issue. However, $80 to $100. Bit pricey but definitely worth it. Looks the best

Invisible Shield on front and back then black Apple bumper. Yes I know, that totals about $70 but it looks VERY good. Keeps a lot of the original look of the iPhone, which I love. The Apple bumpers are ridiculously priced but once you see and use one, you will like it. It's not a cheap ebay rubber thingy. Very well made with real metal buttons to mirror the volume and power buttons on the phone. If you haven't seen one, go into the store and ask the employees if any of them have one on their phones for you to look at.

I'm patiently waiting for my "4" to arrive, ordered Jun 16th around noon, July 14th ship date, c'est la vie! I'll likely get a set of the Zagg skins for initial use and my LiveStrong wrist-strap-turned-makeshift-bumper, then get the Otterbox when available. I use the Otterbox Defender for my 3G and 3GS now, and honestly, both look like they were just taken from the original packaging. That product is awesome at keeping the phones in mint condition, plus they are good for accidental drops or a splash with cola, water or a bath in a puddle.

If you get a snug case, make sure you take it out before charging (unless it is ventilated somehow). I realized our 3G and 3Gs phones with cases have all had to have batteries replaced (which is not a cheap proposition) and the employees that use no case, have not had a single failure.

flag8r77,

Not sure if they sell them at AT&T. I have used several in the past on previous phones, iPhone included, and iPods, camera's, etc. You can buy them online at www.zagg.com or if you're lucky, you can go to a mall and they may have an Invisible Shield kiosk that will sell it to you and install it. It is specifically made for each device you have, for example, the iPhone 4 one will ONLY fit an iPhone 4. I think they may also sell them at Best Buy but be warned, it is a wet application process that you may not be comfortable doing yourself. And don't worry, they peel off with no residue if you decide you don't want it anymore. Plus, lifetime warranty with free replacement. And no, I don't work for them!

Sorry that's just rubbish! If you put metal between an antenna and the air its trying to transmit into or receive from it will seriously reduce the signal.
