iPhone 4/iOS 4 bluetooth muffled on other end

I don't know if it's the phone or the OS, but my headset worked fine with my iPhone 2g. On my new iPhone 4, every bluetooth headset I use connects fine and I can hear the caller perfect. Except, they say it sounds like there's a pillow over my mouth when I talk. To the point of not even recognizing what I say. I tried calling the house, and I can barely hear myself, and it will cut in and out. Anyone else getting this issue?

I did, and now my Voyager Pro works. It's not perfect, but it's not muffled anymore. Also, I STILL have at least 30 feet of range.

Please let me know if anyone has tried this.

i have a Voyager Pro, and when i brought my phone home from purchasing from the Apple store, I did set my phone up 'as a new phone'.. for the first 4days i didn't have a lot of issues but am having lots of bluetooth issues now 😟 (tried all possibilities-turning the wi-fi on/off, forgetting the bluetooth and re-pairing...) only thing that really works is hanging up and starting a new call.. (THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE SOLUTION!).. one thing i haven't tried, is RESTORING the phone a 1st(2nd?) time... 😟 gRrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-@

I want to add to this thread my dissatisfaction with the Bluetooth on my iPhone 4. I have two headsets - Motorola H500 and Plantronics 520 - and both exhibit the same muffled sound problem to the point people simply can't understand what I'm saying. The headsets also randomly connect and disconnect (the Plantronics is worse), and when I try to put my iPhone in my pocket, I frequently lose connectivity with the headset. I didn't have this problem with either headset on my iPhone 3G. I'm required to use a "hands free" device while driving, but I frequently end up fiddling repeatedly with the headset and phone to disconnect, reconnect, end the call and redial, etc. This is clearly not a safer way to operate a vehicle. This needs a fix quickly.

Guys, I know how you all feel.
I spent so much time with Apple on the phone and emails, Apple will not admit that there's a problem, they actually suggest me twice to return the phone (not replace- return).

As we all know, there is a problem (and a big one), you can see how many people complains online.

Apple stand right now is:
"The new iPhone 4 is perfect - no issues", OH - "Just a small software UI bug"

This is just insulting, that kind of behavior comes from being a Monopoly in the smart phone industry.
The funny part is that Apple is not a monopoly, maybe working for few years with AT&T had an effect on Apple.
Apple penetration to the Mobile Industry was fast and still growing, but there is other options.

Apple: The new iPhone is just an "i" - Not really a Phone, please acknowledge the issues that your loyal users, customers and fans are reporting and don't leave us hanging like that.

If the upcoming software update will fix our bluetooth problems, let us know, because right now the iPhone is not useable as a phone.

For me the choice is easy:
As much as I love the iPhone; if a fix is coming I will wait patiently for the fix, if not just let me know, I will just return the phone.

As of my role as "Apple Ambassador". For now it being suspended, I just can't suggest the iPhone to any of my friends, family and co-workers until it will be worth my suggestion.

Note to Apple Support: "Stop asking us to restore the iPhone to factory default every time the engineers denying a flaw in this MAJESTIC Phone, we use the phone for managing our life and work and loosing all of our data every time there's a problem with the phone is not an option"

OEM BMW E46 Bluetooth year 2003 has crackle when other person speaks. No one on the other end has complained about audio quality, so it appears to be only on my end. Problem occurred immediately after updating to iOS 4.0, and had no issues before.

On the other side of things, Bluetooth audio gateway to the Blackberry stereo device seem to play MUCH cleaner than the last OS version. As a matter of fact, I cannot hear the difference between direct wired connection and Bluetooth stereo. Before Stereo playback was distorted as if the gain was too high.
