iTunes not recognizing iPhone 4

Got my phone on thursday, brought it home to connect to my macbook.

I was running 10.4 at the time, and a message came up saying I'd need to upgrade OS.

So today I bought and installed 10.6.3 Snow leopard. Now when I connect my iPhone 4, it will charge via USB, but won't appear in iTunes.

Any help is appreciated!

MacBook 13 in. 2007, Mac OS X (10.6.3)

Okay... I've fixed this problem by completely uninstalling iTunes and then reinstalling. It only took a few minutes and for some reason it worked like a charm. You can find instructions here: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/

this worked for me, not sure if it is the same thing that saraphina7 is talking about but at least there is a fix.
