It's the first time iv come across this error! and the worst thing was - the iPhone wasn't even HOT, in fact it hadn't been used for over 7hrs!!!

this just better not be a new batch of errors!

I have exactly the same issue.

While I am using the phone, while is charging and the battery is draining out really fast.

I think the issue started after the last software apdate.

I got too many error when I try to send an email... some apps shut off by itself without any visible cause.

I am here in Canada, please if you know how to fix it please let us know.

Thank you

I think whatever this software update is, they need to update it with a temperature reading that is shown in the upper corner next to the time and all that good stuff. I've had my itouch for a year now and it's 4g. Goes pretty good but lately it's been slowing up and even as I'm typing this it's lagging on the keyboard. I also have been getting the temperature warning very frequently lately. Yet it's ice cold to the touch. And surprisingly enough I try to warm it up and it actually overcomes the heating warning quicker. This is usually after my wrestling practice. I keep it inside my pocket of my jacket but today I had it in my backpack side pocket and it was a little ajar, and the room we practice in is pretty big. So it's not like it isn't getting enough air, and it's an air conditioned gym. So a theory came to mind for me, what if someone of us are getting the temp warning cause it's TOO COLD? Just a thought.

Hi Brucegn,

I have an Iphone 4 32gb almost 1 year and have the same problem.

IOS 5.0.1 Baseband is 4.11.08, my usb cable and charger was lost so i use my sister charger and usb. After using that cable to sync into my itunes the

temperature warning...iphone needs to cool down before you can use it....

I turn off my phone and sync again and warning still there, iupdated and restore it to 5.1.1 and warning is still there.

What i did was borrow an original usb cable to my officemate and there you go nothing happens. Problem Solved!!

I hope this can helped.

My iPhone 4 frequently displays the temperature warning when I receive a call. Not every time, but maybe once every 10-15 calls. My phone has never been overheated. This and a thousand other reasons is why in two weeks when the new Samsung Note 4 comes out I will be replacing my family's three iPhone 4's with them. I can't wait to be rid of a company that treats me like a baby, tells me to reload my software or exchange my phone for a $200 fee anytime I contact them without even asking me any questions to understand my issue, tells me I can't Jailbreak my phone or use apps from the Cydia store, which I find work much better than the Apple versions, and finally, refuses to sell me replacement parts or even tell me where I can get them (because there is no place to get Apple parts). Mine and my wife's iPhone 4 have only the most basic apps on them and they run slow as molasses. Mine is Jailbroken, but hers is not, and they both are a 20 times slower than when we first bought them. They are almost unusable. I have no idea why my phone will tell me it is overheated when it is actually cool to the touch and has never been overheated above the warmth in my pocket. Apple refuses to offer any suggestions as to the possible causes. When a company such as Apple gets so big and they start to get cocky and treat their customers like second class idiots it's time to move on to a company that's actually trying to service customers. Bye Apple.

Its SORRY to see, even after soo many people reporting the issue, no one from APPLE comes forward to provide the solution or takes the owership of the issue. Exchanging phone is easy in country like USA, but the condition is worst in India.

Apple should recall all the phones reported to have temperature issue and get the same fixed on priority, after all they are charging premium amount while selling the product
