If you are not using a case or screen protectors, I'd greatly appreciate for those people to post how this glass is holding up. Is it really scratch resistant??? I have the Zagg screen protector on the front and back because I'd rather be safe than sorry.

No protectors on my 4, no scratches or anything at all - I think the screen will be very resistant
Does the screen protector effect the front camera?

Do you think the reports of the glass scratching bogus or people who are just very rough on their phones? I have the bumper, but I'm afraid of putting my phone in my pocket causing scratches and that's why I have the Zagg on it.

Not at all. The screen protector doesn't effect any operation of the iPhone.
I dont know about the other reports only my first hand experience. I have no concerns that about the phone casing scratching, after owning many portable devices I would say that the 4 has the most scratch resistant screen by far.
I do have a bumper on it but, so far no scratches.
I think that the reports of scratches are from people who are generally pretty rough with their tech. I never put my phone in my pocket. I always use a proper pouch on my belt to carry the device.
Change, keys, even the rivets on jeans are all very hard and very sharp objects that could damage the screen. My own partner puts his phone in his pocket, and the very day we had purchased a new HTC Imagio for him, he scratched the screen. He had placed the phone in the same pocket with his keys.
My sincere recommendation to most people is get a pouch or a case. If you are going to place the device in your pocket, then at least get a screen protector.

I actually have a case too. It's a leather case with a belt clip I purchased a few years ago for my 3G. This case works perfectly with the bumper on it. I still think I'll keep the Zagg protectors on it. It has a rubbery feel, but it actually improves the gripping and the touch is about as good as it is with no screen protector.
I've always kept my phone in my pocket, but not a snap pocket or anything. Also, I don't keep anything else in that pocket. So far so good.
At some point it's going to get dinged up and/or scratched, I realize that. I wish the screen protector I used on my old phone was a available when I purchased the new one, but alas it was not.

Anymore care to review?
No bumpers (which are butt-ugly and detract from the industrial design of the phone, imo), and no scratch protectors (which are just plain useless, imo).
I keep the phone - +and nothing else+ - in my left front pocket. About the only thing I have to watch for is the accumulation of dust. So I try to remember to turn my pockets inside out before washing my pants, and then shaking them out a bit before sticking the phone down in there.
Never had a major scratch on any iPhone (this is my third one) treating them this way. Over time (and as with previous phones), I expect to see a few very fine scratches around the edges, but these shouldn't affect resale value when I go through all this again next year for iPhone5.
Day Three and still pristine.

I'm a motorcycle cop. I carry my naked phone in a front pocket on my ballistic vest. I'm constantly using the phone for various reasons at work and so far, the phone is still pristine. It does kinda resemble having unprotected sex in Haiti, so I will be getting an Otterbox when they are available.

Cool.
Yeah, I'm not against cases, per se. If they made one that complemented the design of the phone, I might consider it.
I just hate those damnbumpers. Thirty dollars for those things is just outrageous.
I have the zagg full shield and I intend to buy a case as well. I think everyone should at least have the front screen shield or protector. Aside from helping it protect from scratches, it's easier to clean off dirt and thumb prints on the screen. For $21, I think the zagg full shield is an inexpensive way to protect your phone.
I've considered the Zagg Shield. Is it difficult to apply?
