If you are not using a case or screen protectors, I'd greatly appreciate for those people to post how this glass is holding up. Is it really scratch resistant??? I have the Zagg screen protector on the front and back because I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Anyone know any good privacy/tinted screen protectors for the iphone 4?
Cases are a matter of personal taste. I have the black bumper. It adds a grip to the phone and I think the black inlay and chrome buttons add a bit of class to the device and the bumper. Frog gets close to that for their silicon case as well. And $25+ for clear film is no less ridiculous. Like I said it's all about personal taste and what it's worth to you. Good luck and enjoy whatever case you get or not.
I just can't see anyone not having something on the phone...but that's my personal preference. I have had a my phone naked for 4 days and no scratches. However, I do have the original plastic screen protector still on the back. I have an Invisible Shield full body on the way but mostly to add some tackiness to the phone for grip. It also gives me the sense of security knowing I can pretty much use it anywhere out in the field and not worry about being ultra-careful. You are wise to get the Zagg screen protector--I have had them on my previous two iPhones and I was able to keep them in pristine condition the entire time. Pretty cool stuff.
I had a screen protector put on my 3G at the Apple store the day I bought it. Thinking I should do the same for the iP4, Apple didn't have any, but just the street, the AT&T store had the Zagg front and back dry protector in stock on launch day. So, I bought a set and had the AT&T rep put it on. It looked awful, was blotchy, had air bubbles under the front screen and made the back glass look etched. They said the protectors would seat over time, but I thought it looked so bad, I asked them to take them off. I don't like finger prints and am pretty "anal" about keeping my screen clean, but I also have a full case around the phone and then put it in a leather clip case when not being used. I like how the screen feels naked, so for the time being, it's going to remain naked.
Umm...the AT&T person installed it wrong. And no, I am not mocking Job's quote. Seriously. I have done 20 installs for friends and family and every one of them is crystal clear. Its too bad because it is an awesome product.
Yes and no. I have done several installs on iPhones and I highly recommend that you 1) wash your hands before the application or better, wear tight fitting latex gloves 2) make sure you are working in a dust/pet hair free environment. 2) Wipe the phone well and remove any smudges with a microfiber cloth before the install 3) liberally use the application fluid Zagg provides on the front AND back of the film (don't worry, it will stick). And 4) use the plastic card they provide to squeegee the bubbles and liquid off.
As you can see, there is a precise method for installation but as long as you follow their instructions, it is a fast and relatively simple install. As long as you apply a lot of application fluid to the film, it will position on the front (or back) easily as it will glide along the surface. Once you have it in place, remove the bubbles and dry the phone off. It usually takes 5 minutes to apply and be sure to let the product cure for 24 hours.

My son has carried his 3G in a front pocket "bare back" for two years with no scratches or problems. I suspect the iP4 glass is even more resistant.
Apple's description of the glass.
'Made from the same materials used in helicopters and high-speed trains, the Retina display glass is chemically strengthened to be harder, more scratch resistant, and more durable than ever. The glass also features an oil-resistant coating that helps keep the screen clean'.
I don't have a bumper, rubberised case etc on mine. The reason been I just don't like the look of them, I prefer my iPhone left naked 🙂
I have the IP4 and I have no scratches on it whatsoever. I do plan to purchase a leather pouch for it, when there are some available, purely for when I am putting my IP4 into a small zipped compartment in my sports bag. I would hate to catch the screen on the zipper and scratch it, so for piece of mind I will purchase a leather pouch for this purpose. I used to have the Knomo one for my 3GS, but I was a bit disappointed with the durability of it, so I'm planning on purchasing the Diesel one (if one is made).
You just have to be sensible. No matter how scratch or tough resistant a product is, I wouldn't dream of putting keys, coins in the same pocket has an expensive bit of kit such as an iPhone, or putting it into an open shirt pocket where it could fall out if you bent over. I always put mine in a trouser pocket.
If you do what I have mentioned above (i.e. Not putting the iPhone in the same pocket has keys, coins etc. Or putting it into an open shirt pocket where it could fall out if you bent over). Then I do not see the need to purchase screen protectors, bumpers and the like 🙂
