Facebook app on iPhone 4 - Doesn't work?

Hi,

I'm experiencing some difficulties to load the Facebook application on the iPhone 4. I know the 3.1.3 update doesn't "support" iOS4 features such as backgrounding/multitasking, but it should, at least, work no?

My cellular DATA is turned ON, I tried both with the Wifi and the 3G, and it connects to Facebook very randomly (I would say one each 10 times).
I reinstalled the application twice (just by deleting it and download it again) and it doesn't work.

But* the PUSH seems to work... except that I'm screwed as soon as I click on "view"..
Any idea?

Also, is it normal that we have to type the password EVERY TIME we want to connect?

Im having the exact same problem..... Except now mine is just continuously "loading" and i cant use it at all... The only fix is using safari but its not the neat clean look of the app and all the links are tiny... And for some reason there are 2 versions of fb on safari one looks like the fb app before the update And the other is a more txt based version... Odd i have os4 3gs 8gb

I am nor having difficulty with the app itself loading, but difficulty with the data automatically refreshing when I load Facebook.

Each time I open facebook I have to hit the refresh button myself. I receive the push notification, but when I log into Facebook I have no new notifications UNTIL I hit refresh! This is super freakin annoying!

One more thing to try is to actually log off manually from within the facebook app. When you're in the facebook app, and after you have typed your password, go to the logoff option and sign out.

Then close the app, then restart and log in again. Might cure it. This worked for me when I had a weird bug where notifications in facebook wouldn't clear after I acknowledged them. By doing this, it reset it and worked perfectly after that.

After OS4 upgrade it wouldn't let me log in, even though email and password were correct. I tried removing app and reloading to no avail. As FB will let you log in with any email address you've listed on it (with the same password), I switched to a different one and it works fine now on all devices. I'd had exactly the same error message telling me email/password didn't match on both iTouch and iPhone.

I'm having the same problem and i guess it's an iOS issue and device too.

Everytime i'm having this problem i have to delete and re-install the app again. Pain!!!!

I think the 4 and 4s phone are not reilable anymore

My iPhone 4 has no issues with using Facebook. So, perhaps it's not the iPhone 4 in general? Maybe it's something specific to your situation? You specific device or the specific user?
