Cannot slide to answer phone calls

I try to answer call but slider refuses to move fully to right and "fights" against me. Have to try a few times and then sometimes works.

Some observations:
Currently have a 3GS but had same problem on a 3G.
Been through various OS updates with same problem IOS3 IOS4.
Only happens when trying to answer phone "Slide to unlock" always works.
Pressing menu button or turning silent button on/off a few times seems to help but shouldn't need to do this.

Have read other posts about resetting phone and ringtones but only use standard ringtone.

Any ideas?

This post is from 2010. I can't belive in 2016 I have the same problem, using the latest phone with the lastest software available (iOS 10.0.1) I think that this problem has something to do with the deep layers of the IOS itself, doesn't matter the version, nothing will fix this, only rewritting the software from scratch which they'll never do.

As I see, for my phone- it's a sporadic behavior so nobody knows why.

Since the best flawless phone ever made, 3GS, all the iphones had issues. Big issues. Like this, or the issue with the clock freeze. And they are doing nothing about this. On Android, if an app doesn't work, you download another. Using apple, you can't replace the call app. So I'm stuck with this ugly green icon. Apple should pay my bill because I have to call all my friends back everytime they call me.

Hi All,

I exactly got the same problem and stumbled on this site. By reading all the posts and with some intuition, guess I may have 'work around' or solved this issue.

Guess the problem is when you pick up the phone it is isolated (insulated), and when try to slide with your single finger touching it isnt recognising the touch. It is like a crow on the high tension wire, it doesnt die because current isnt flowing through it.

Solution:

I held one finger somewhere else on the screen and slide with the other finger it worked!

Thanks

I looked into this issue way too late, I just bought the new iPhone 7 plus got it about two weeks ago, and still the problem is there. I thought it was an issue with my last iPhone 5, because I dropped it once. Now T-Mobile doesn't let me buy an other phone because I signed the contract over a month ago fml. This is just great, another two years of dealing with this sh*t every time I get called.
