Brand new to Apple. My first contact, an Apple 4s IPhone. Amazing piece of equipment. Didn't take long for the glow to die down though. I tried a link to cell with my Pan wireless home phone, which BTW used to work flawlessly with my old LG. The iPhone 4s paired right up, and worked fine, for about three calls. Then I started getting the" I cant understand you, your voice is garbled" bit from the other end. So, as a trusting newbie, I went down the road. Contacted Apple, got a number, then contacted Pan, they tried to help, but it wound up as a "not my problem". Even contacted my carrier, they told me to contact Apple. I did all that. Also moved the wireless phone base to another room, did IPhone re-sets for Apple support, I powered down wireless routers, and shut off the 4s Wi-Fi while trying to use link to cell.

I even shut poor Siri down to see if that would help. It didn't. I went as far as changing my wireless home phone to a different model. Then when that didn't work, I bought a different brand. Hey guess what, it still didn't work, and I had to return it. Same MO, works ok for a a few calls, then de-grades into "I can't understand you, your voice is garbled again, please don't call me with what ever your using" Well FYI, I'm using an expensive 4s cellphone with a Bluetooth link thats supposed to work, but doesn't.

I didn't bother changing out my 4s phone, because by this time, I'm reading threads, and its obvious that's not the going to help. All those contacted denied any knowledge of what appears to me, to be a compatibility issue between iPhone 4s Bluetooth, and other brand Bluetooth equipment. IMHO somebody's Bluetooth version isn't compatible with somebody else's Bluetooth version, even though some specs say they are. Nice, real nice. Also, IMHO, there is a standoff between Apple and other vendors, because of the expense involved in fixing the problem, are in denial.

After reading up on this, it appears as though phone manufactures, headset and auto makers, to name a few, are having similar problems with 4s Bluetooth. My guess, they aren't about to change their equipment anytime soon to make it really 4s compatible. I'll hang in for a short while, but if I don't get a work around, or a real fix from Apple, I'm gone. BTW, for me, 5.1.1 didn't help one bit. As much as I like this Apple 4s phone, I may have to dump it, eat loss, and move on to a different brand. Now I could be wrong on all this, but for the price of this 4s phone, I expect it to be fully functional, and work with more then other Apple products. For me, this problem is unacceptable.
