iPhone adding Labels in Gmail?

ok, so this is a weird issue that might be how the iPhone 4 communicates with Gmail, but still an issue. My gmail has now added a "Deleted Messages" label and "Sent Messages" label. This is after I added Gmail as an IMAP service, I didn't use the default Gmail setup in the iPhone. Now instead of actually deleting the messages, they go into this deleted messages and sent, actually go out, but are added to the sent messages folder. So now it feels that everything is duplicated??

Anyone else have this issue???

HP Pavilion dv4, Windows 7, iPhone 4

Nothing weird about that. Think of IMAP as an additional image of your gmail web account. If you send a message, whether from the web or your iphone, it will be kept in the Sent folder of gmail and if you delete a message, it will be in your Trash folder, whether web or iphone. If you develop folders/labels on the web/phone, they will be there in the phone/web.

You mail is always synchronized between web and iphone. It's quite an efficient method.

try this, go into your gmail settings on your iPhone, tap account info, tap advanced, under mailbox behaviors - tap drafts and select on the server, tap deleted on select on the server. This may help, that's the settings I use.

The crazy part about all of this is that this problem and the responses from Apple makes me feel like not even purchasing anything else from Apple. It's one thing to be a leader in the market but it's another thing to be arrogant about the issue. I spend at least 4-5k a year on Apple products, trust my word as I type, that will not be happening if stuff like this continues! I love Apple I really do but it's a thin line between love and hate...seems personal(it is). Apple is like family in my household and I'm beginning to feel like family does not care anymore....bad feeling!
