iTunes 9.2 with iPhone 3GS/iOS4 - sync settings "apply" after every sync

I have recently upgraded to iTunes 9.2 to sync my iPhone 3GS (on iOS4) on windows 7 professional 32-bit.

I noticed that after every sync, I get the dialog if I want to Apply my sync settings, even though all I have done is sync and not change any settings.

what gives?

iMac 20in 2007, Mac OS X (10.6.4), iPhone 3GS with OS 4, Boot Camp with Windows 7 Ultimate

I go to the Photos tab, but my "Sync Photos from" box is unchecked, so it doesn't seem like I can use your fix.

Or do I need to check the "Sync Photos from" box and then apply your fix?

I had a 3GS prior, and never encountered this problem. I now have an iPhone 4s, which I've done one or two "iTunes backups" on so far... with no issues until today.

*I actually encountered this problem upon conclusion of my sync... immediately prior to doing a backup before the upgrade to iOS 6.1
