Sorry to bring this topic up and better to type here then Starting a new thread.

Anyways, I found out that when I charge my iPhone 4 through the wall, my phone seems to get really warm and I can definitely feel the heat. My 3G S was not like this and now it worries me that something could go wrong. So do you think I should take it to the apple store and have a genius take a look at?

Does anyone have this heat problem when they charge their iPhone?

1. Battery discharge/charge is very inefficient, with more than 30% loss due to heat. Also it has electrical resistance etc that causes heat to escape.

1b. The faster the processor, the more it over heats. Read up on wiki about the size of processor vs thermal limitations.

2. Iphone 4 is made of a glass that dissipates heat faster than the older plastic models (3g and 3gs), so it'll feel hotter.

3. It is better that the heat escapes and cools down the main chips, so if it bothers you, then I recommend you get a case.
