"Prepared for Shipment" over 48 hours?!?

Order Date: Jun 16, 2010 at 01:52 AM PDT

its been 48 hours while my order has been in the "Prepared for Shipment" status, is that normal?!? i figured it might take 1 day at most to prepare, and sent out, but this is getting ridiculous..

core i5 750 hd 5770 4mb ddr3 ram, Windows 7

Yes. Mine was in that status for 3 days before it shipped.

Yep, normal. Money was taken from my account on Monday, stayed out Tuesday, returned Wednesday and out again today Thursday. Got a shipping notification yesterday by e-mail, but FedEx still shows it in China.

So I just placed my order and it said three weeks to ship, my question is has anyone received theres early? Today is July 1st and I will be away on business July 19-30th; was trying to see if it might arrive early, worse case scenario if its not shipped out by the time I leave I could just cancel.

Update.... I just received an e-mail saying it will ship out Jul 23 and delivers Jul 28th!

i was really hoping that when the status changed to "Prepared for shipment" that i would beable to get it by this weekend, but it looks like im waiting til monday at the earliest.

what i dont understand is, why does it stay in "prepared for shipment" phase for more then 24hours? shouldnt it just go out the following business day? why is it sitting in their factory?

Seems like even if you order it today, that it will arrive like near the end of July? I am planning on ordering iphone 4 online, however I won't be back in the States until the 5th of August so if this is the case, If i order my iphone 4 on the first week of August, it is likely that I will get it like 3 weeks later? I hope that by August it will go a lot faster and smoother.

Really hard to predict supply chain this early in iPhone 4's lifecycle. In another month your most predictable path should be easier to ascertain, i.e., on line ordering delivery schedules, store availability, etc..

My AT&T store (Carmel, In) told me today that a phone ordered today would be received in 5-7 days.

i preordered it on the 16th, with the promise of the apple store employee that it would arrive ON launch day. this whole process is annoying, and yeah i know the iphone 4 has had a ridiculous ammount of popularity and they clearly didnt manufacture enough for even the preorders to go through.

i guess my gripe is the fact that they resupply other chains and stores for walk in customers, instead of taking care of the people who pre-ordered it. whats the point of pre-ordering a product when you recieve it a month after launch?!?

I don't think Monday would be Observed as an Independence Day since it is on Sunday. So I would assume that Monday would be still running.

Maybe I didn't phrase that correctly. Monday is a day off for us because the actual holiday is on Sunday. All State offices will be closed and I assume Federal too. No mail running, so I figured no FedEx.

When I ordered my I pad from apple it was "prepared for shipment" for a few days. It is normal.

Still in China after 48 hours their time. 😟. Picked up my son's in St. Louis a couple hours ago. Headed home. No issues with his so far. We finally got to try Face Time and it's pretty cool.
