Safari 5.0 won't play mp3

I'm having problems playing the MP3s here in Safari 5.0:

http://georgemauro.yolasite.com/resources/ByeByeBirdie/BAS_Parts/TelephoneHour/S oprano.mp3

They work in Firefox and Chrome.

The files work if you drag them into Safari locally.

Thanks!

HI,

Try repairing disk permissions.

Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

Relaunch Safari. If that didn't make a difference, from the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset. This empties the Safari cache also and that may help.

Relaunch Safari...

I installed the combo and the same thing happened.

first one i clicked on played fine. the second one...didn't

now here's something i didn't try till now. once i got the upside down QT ? icon I hit the refresh button and it played. Well, some of them played. it was hit or miss, no rhythm or reason. some did on the first try, some on the refresh, and some not at all.

i'm done w/ Safari. Firefox and Chrome plays all the files fine first time, every time...

Thanks for trying Carolyn. it was a valiant effort. 🙂
