Just FYI. Visited the Walnut Creek, CA store today. Customers who are picking up their iPhone 4 today have been waiting three weeks. Employees are telling new customers that it's 2-4 week wait.

I've been on the list for two weeks, so looks like another week for me. I have a busted 3G. If I knew it was going to be three weeks I would have spent the money to get my 3G fixed ($50) and waited on the iPhone 4 until the supply issue was resolved. But now it's another week of no phone.

I called both the San Tan Village Apple Store and the Chandler Fashion Center in Arizona while I was there on vacation on July 8. I was placed on the store priority list for both stores for a 32g iPhone 4. The email stating that the phone was ready came on the 16th for the San Tan Village location. Total wait time was one week.

Well after waiting 2 weeks and 1 day, I finally FOUND an iPhone at Walmart. I went in to get NCAA11, and just happened to pass by the mobile phone counter, where I saw a couple getting 2 new iPhones. I asked the lady if they had anymore, and she said they had 2 16gig models left. I bit the bullet (because I had reserved the 32) and got the 16. No big deal, I never filled up my 16 gig 3GS anyway.

It's the Walmart on 215 & Tropicana. They had one left when I left at 5:00 pm. Happy hunting! I got mine finally, and I love it. Bought a case there as well.

Richmond, VA (Short Pump)
on the list / initial email 7/12
no moving up email yet

I'm going out of town for more than 24 hours later this week so it will probably come then. Is it true they won't let anybody pick it up on my behalf even if I give them a photocopy of my id with a signed note, and the person uses their own credit card?

I guess I should also buy one online to start moving up that list in case they won't let me buy the one that comes into the store for me. I'd love to have it by August.
