I have something similar

same for everyone I guess. The problem is that when ordering and until recently, shipping was on 2nd July and expected to take 3 days.

Apple has changed the info on my account/order update page. Next update after the in-transit status in Hong-Kong on Saturday is expected in 4-5 days (was 3-4 days). That would be Wednesday 7 or Thursday 8. Add dispatch to and from local depot, and it'll be around Friday 9 or next week...

I assume that the initial delivery time of 5 July was based on a standard shipping from European distribution center in Cork (As far as I can remember from other Apple Store orders), but because there is no current stock everything comes direct from manufacturer in Shenzhen. This was not reflected in the information at the time of ordering. And until yesterday this was not the information given on the order update page. Anybody who booked off work to take delivery might just as well go back to the office...

The main issue is that we can only make assumptions or guess what's happening, since Apple has given wrong, misleading, or incomplete information. Also note that the info on your order update, Apple tracking info page and TNT international tracking page is not necessarily identical/subject to change...

My personal guess is that the goods are being flown from HK to Europe, and then to each European country, to your local depot, and then out for delivery. If it was express delivery they would arrive today, but they are no doubt being grouped with other items for dispatch in a more cost effective way. If you check delivery times from Hong Kong to European address by most courier services (this was easy to find on UPS website) delivery ranges between 2 and 4 days (excl. Sundays)

I suppose TNT has been showing something they were not suppose to, on top of some shipping issues. I mean, look at the tracking history that I've posted before: it really looks like a pull out from a local depot (Italy), return to factory (China) then reshipped to end destination (in this case UK).

It's only on 2nd of July they shipped mine:

02 Jul 2010 17:00:00 Shenzhen Incorrect Transit Times In System, Possible Delivery Delay.

My order was to be despatched 2nd July for delivery 5-6th July but has now been pushed back to 14-15th july, on order tracking site it said despatched 1st July to customer/final destination ..... rang apple to cancel order but they said that as the item had been despatched to me that i couldn't cancel, my argument was that an item despatched on the 1st July that should arrive at my door by 5th to 6th July cannot possibly be still enroute as of 1st July and take till 15th July to arrive??? Never thought i'd say this but i wish i'd not bothered now cos it'll be 3 weeks after launch that i might have my phone ..... oh and apple rep also said that delay is in no way for upgrade to manufacturing process to rectify signal loss problems..... I had to get that dig in 😉
