July 1st despatch date problem UK?

Mine still states:

05 Jul 2010 14:50:59 Arnhem Hub Shipment In Transit.

Just phoned TNT and they have said my delivery is due for the 7th

anyway gave TNT a call and a very nice lady said that they are waiting for the package flight to come in and that it should get delivered to my door (London) on the 7th (tomorrow).

She also advised me to call back between 7pm-8pm to see if the plane has landed so ill be 100% sure if its coming tomo. Plus the site tracking is slow to update so best off calling instead.

I've just been told exactly the same re a London delivery and to call back between 7-8 to check if it's arrived at London City Airport.

Apple have truly screwed up this time. I pre-ordered on 16th and the tracking page still does show any carrier tracking information. Claims to have shipped 1st July (invoice issued and credit card charged then). All the tracking page says is 'Estimated delivery date 14th July' and 'In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule - 7th July'. Any guesses what this might really mean?

I will never pre-order from Apple again. It is a joke to wait so long when I could have bought one from the store just down the road ages ago.

No change for me over 24 hours! For a short moment I thought I noticed this extra info, and copied it to the clipboard.... 😉

Thanks Bernard, nothing to add to that, I'll just wait and see. (or not see!)

My guess is there were more than one batch shipped and billed on the 1st.

Those of us without any carrier tracking numbers will have to wait for the next update to our shipment status page on the 7th ... Because it appears without that tracking number it's still waiting for the carrier to get it.

I've just had a very long and frustrating conversation with sales support after my delivery estimate was moved to the 15th from today.

They think the consignment is in Frankfurt but have no idea why it's delayed by 10 days, also the lady spent quite some time explaining that these delays are to be expected with any form of international shipping, which I found quite amusing.

I, and I assume others in this position, have two options.
1. Wait an indeterminate amount of time for iPhone to arrive.
2. Wait an indeterminate amount of time for iPhone to reach UK apple warehouse then wait 3-5 business days for refund.

Not an ideal outcome but at least I have some time to look at the alternatives.

To ease your frustration maybe you could buy an iphone 4 from a store, seemingly some have them in stock. Then when your one arrives whack it on ebay - there's at least one with a £730 bid on it..

It was my understanding we can't cancel the phone until we receive it.

And then only after we obtain a return RMA number. Otherwise I would have canceled this a while ago myself.

Because if they do manage to deliver it on the 15th as my status page reads I'm not sure we will have anyone there to receive it ...

TNT are completely useless, i wish Apple would not use them. Any delivery they are involved with screws up completely.

The first Apple product i purchased (Powerbook G4 12" DVI) was mishandled by TNT - they even claimed to have attempted to deliver it twice but no one was at home - this was a lie as i spent all day sitting watching out of the front window waiting for it to arrive. In the end someone from Apple spoke to them and i got rang back by the depot manager and given his mobile number to call if it didn't arrive that evening as he was sending a van out.

Aaaaagh!! Mine is STILL in Arnhem Hub! 😟 has everyone elses changed except mine?!
