Videos and music syncs, but doesn't show up on iPad

I have been able to sync my iTunes library to my iPad with no problem until this last weekend. I already had several videos and tv shows on my iPad, and then i added a few more, synced, and before testing it, went on vacation without my computer for twelve days

When I open up videos, there are no videos on my iPad. When i open up the iPod app, there is no music on my iPad. When i look in the About section in settings, it says I'm using 58 of 59 available GB, but that there are zero videos and zero songs.

The memory in ny iPad is nearly full, as i thought it'd be after syncing a large amount of videos. Itunes on my computer showed that the iPad had videos on it, yet, no videos.

I've seen posts where others have had similar problems, and some have been able to resolve them with syncing over and over, but im on my vacation without my computer and can not sync. Im hoping that since the files definitely transferred (high memory utilization) but are not showing up in the apps, that there is a way to fix this problem on my ipad without syncing. I'd love to have my vids and music on vacation with me. Is there a way?

This exact thing happened to me, and I too am away from my computer while traveling with no way to fix it. As far as I can tell the "updating library" thing that happens for a split-second after you sync crashes sometimes, and when it does, it fails to write out any information on what you have in your library, so it ends up looking empty.

It's incredibly frustrating to not be able to trust that the sync works. I should not have to double-check at my entire library exists after every sync.

For that matter, it's idiotic that my iPad doesn't just look at and display the files that are on my disk. But I guess Apple always has to do things their own way, even if it's the stupid way.

I'm having the same problem with my wife's iPad. Interesting thing is mine works just fine. I don't know what's more maddening:
1) That this happens
OR
2) Apple's arrogant "we never make mistakes and are more reliable than Windows" attitude. I've had FAR more reliability problems with my iPad and iPhone than I've ever had with ANY edition of Windows. It's definitely convinced me NOT to buy a Mac!

I'm sure eventually Apple will quietly fix this without ever acknowledging the problem.

I was just about to downgrade my iTunes again to correct the problem with videos not showing on my iPad Pro when I came across this tip. I never setup any restrictions on this brand new iPad Pro so I gave it a whirl and found it set to NONE on movies and tv shows. After changing to my specification for allowing both, movies and tv shows show up! Thank you for the assist.
