FedEx Estimated Delivery Date?

My iPhone 4 had a fedex estimated delivery date of 7/9 and was delivered on 7/6. Make sure to check the fedex tracking # so they don't surprise you.

Maadco42 - I too ordered 6/16 (around noon), last night I checked and was finally seeing "prepared for shipment". When I logged in today, I got the standard "not yet shipped" update again 😟

Not sure what's going on, but seeing an update seemed promising until Apple decided to recant...

Seems like east coast is getting them well before west. A few posts yesterday had orders from 6/17-6/23 being delivered.

Mine was delivered a day early, and the tracking still said delivery next day, even though it was already delivered!... Better sign that Shippers Release and stick it on your door a couple days ahead.

When tracking ANY shipment, there are a couple things to look for....

The estimated delivery date won't become very accurate until the package is actually moving through the system(whether it be Fedex or UPS). What happens is Apple, or whatever company prints the label which automatically submits the tracking/package info to Fdx....this label could be printed a week ahead of time and submitted. But then if Apple processes the packages early, it could result in the phones being picked up several days before Fedex thought they were going to get them.

So in other words, until you actually see your package has been scanned by FDX/UPS.....the delivery date is a guess at best.

I don't think this is the issue for most buyers. Once the package is in the system, it shows a particular delivery date. I think there's some built in padding in case there's a custom's delay. Mine came a day early, and the FedEx tracking system showed an estimated date of July 7, up until the moment it arrived at the local sorting center, when it showed it was going to be delivered by 1030, and it was out on a truck. I was going to leave for breakfast, but I only checked because I was monitoring a thread, and someone said that they were arriving a day early.

And the FedEx tracking site does say when a label has been generated, but not picked up.

I would never use this. I live in a great neighborhood, but that doesn't mean everyone walking through it is trustworthy. I think when you sign that release, you relieve Apple and FedEx of any liability from non-delivery. In other words, you're pretty much up the creek sans paddle if it's lost or stolen.

You can also pick up the iPhone at your local FedEx distribution point. They usually have them there in the late afternoon after all the deliveries are done. That's the safest.
