VOIP on iPad?

I have yet to get any of the alleged free VOIP apps to work on my iPad 3G. Have they worked for anyone else? If so, how? I searched the discussions and saw nothing. Web articles talk about how it is possible, but the apps I've tried seem designed for the iPhone, not iPad.

I'm thinking about purchasing an iPad (& OS X 10.5.8) and currently use Skype on my Mac. Does the iPad have a microphone?

Yes the iPad has a built-in microphone. Also, most USB headset will plug into and work via the Camera Connection Kit. ALso, there are some headsets that plug into the headphone jack. However, bluetooth headsets do not work.

My iPad's got a new voip mate, Freephoo😊🙂. This free app works on WiFi and 3G and is quick to install. For all those who want to chat with loved ones for houses for free, this is a good app to check out. It also allows you to call up land and mobiles anywhere in the country. their Premium pack is very economical to dialup international numbers.

The voip app which can work on both WiFi and 3G are great news for the iPad. I have using one sch app called Freephoo and am pretty happy with it. Its voice clarity and simplicity are its strength. I am also happy that it allows me to chat unlimitedly and that too free. If anyone is looking for a good voip app, this is the thing to try😀
