Final Cut Server is totally different from an FTP server.
FCSvr is a complicated, powerful piece of software for managing video assets in a Final Cut editing environment. The software is $1000.
An FTP server, which sounds like what you want, is simply a computer with access to the public internet and a (relatively simple) FTP server software running on it. In theory you can use the built-in FTP file sharing in Mac OS X (System Preferences - Sharing - FTP), but it's not particularly flexible. I've used
CrushFTP at several clients and like it.
