IPhone 4 doesn't allow reasonable range and other issues with bluetooth headset. Fyi, tried with Apple Bluetooth headset which worked perfectly with IPhone 3G & IPhone 3G-S. Issue, you can have IPhone 4 in shirt or pant pocket and bluetooth will disconnect. Also, you can have IPhone 4 inside car and close the door while standing right outside the door and bluetooth disconnects. This never happened with previous models including IPhone 3G-S with IOS 4 installed.
Other bluetooth issues: as others reported - muffled sound quality to person your talking to. Time delays and disconnects with bluetooth Uconnect. IPhone 4 won't let you change between your car audio phone feature back to IPhone 4 without freezing.
Without the intention of beating the same drum, I have had the same issue with 5 different bluetooth devices and I and ready to sell this phone. JUNK! Iphone 4 3g, 4.2.8
Yup.... the BlueTooth feature is junk on the IPhone 4. My wife and i tried to connect - we both have ios 4.3.3 and they wouldn't see each other. Apple needs to man up and fix this.
I have the same problem with my 2011 Honda Odyssey. Did you ever find a fix? Did the flip phone work all this time? Any help you have would be greatly appreciated.
Did you ever solve the problem. I just bought a 2011 Odyssey and have the same problem with my iPhone 4. The Bluetooth is off then on. I reboot the phone and it sometimes comes back. Frustrating!
I have mr010 and jabra halo headsets, both suffer terrible dropouts whilst jogging and phone in left pocket. In my right pocket, no dropouts whatsoever. Crazy but true.
...and it's an ever bigger joke if you compare iPhone's Bluetooth issues with how well headsets used to work when I had a couple of SE non-smartphones...
Sorry, getting use to something that worked fine on the iphone3 but does not on the iphone4 is BS and accepting it reeks of complacency. They need to address this when the new OS comes out this fall.
You're a STAR Jesse! You've saved my headset from being scrapped thus saving me money...walk tall!!!! A lot of people may have known this trick for years...bet a lot DIDN'T! 🙂
