Iphone 4 people cant hear me during calls.

I recently have been having issues with people hearing me when i call them or i receive their calls. My sound works perfectly through Facetime and thru mic apps. What gives? Do I need to return my iphone to have this fixed? Resetting has not fixed the problem. =(

Your only option at this point is to take it back to an Apple store. I hate to bring up new issues but lately my new phone that I just got freezes and the Apple logo appears for one or two minutes before the slider button comes up to open phone. My wife has the 3G Iphone and has never experienced these problems. I only hope Apple addresses these issues as they are extremely annoying and inconvenient.

Same problem and there is no solution.

I think it is time to say goodby to iphones.

I have iphone 4 for 9 months now, waranty 3 more months.

Apple authorised service did not want to replace or repair iphone because there was small (2*1 mm) damage on the screen edge.

They required 300usd to replace.

I use iphones since 2007 and with every was something wrong, but this is really anoying.

They deciding not to repair like they giving it for free.

Time to change!

Androids and Windows Phones are future

Had the same problem, my warranty was about to expire in 1 week but I just went in today and they replaced it with a brand new one (or refurbrished? no way to know) with no question asked. Warranty is still going to expire in 1 week though so I'll probably end up getting the extended warranty...

I tried getting a little bit of information from the employees but their mouth is sealed tight like I expected.

I work in the industry and iPhone is definitely the best phone out there right now... Android and Windows phones are still a bit behind.

Well as far as I know this is not software issue it is hardware issue.

If you have valid waranty sent it back and it should be replaced. (only if

No phisical damage on iphone, because of this they did not replace mine, f***.)

I have found one cell phone repair shop and they know how to fix this issue.

I will post results when done.

So I was finally able to go to the Genius Bar today, after having had the problem for a month and my phone today decided to work. So when the guy checked it he said that he couldn't do anything because the phone was ok by him. I told him that my phone hasn't been working for a month but occasionaly it does work. So he said that it must be a problem with Vodafone. I laughed about it and showed him this blog and told him that a lot of people are having exactly the same issue and that he needed to replace my phone because I didn't have the time to go back home to find my phone wasn't working again. Anyway I walked out with a brand new iphone BUT now I have this note on my account:

Problem Description/Diagnosis

Issue Verified: No
Known Liquid Damage: No

Issue: Issue unable to be verified. After cleaning all receptors phone worked fine. Customer still concerned issue may reoccur so offered one time exception replacement. If any future unverifiable issues or OOW problems needs to be paid replacement.

I really don't care that I lost my 1 TIME EXCEPTION REPLACEMENT, what really bothers me is that after spending 1 month with my phone not able to make phone calls, I seamed to be "making this up" so they "very generously" offered to replace it.... but only this time.... next time we won't be so kind!!!

I'm really upset!!

Hello, everyone. I've been without the use of the simplest aspect of my iPhone 4, calling, for nearly a week now, because of the same reasons that everyone else is experiencing. I could FaceTime someone, and they could hear me just fine. I could record a voice memo, and again, I could hear myself. I searched and searched forever, but I finally fixed my phone. I took the back cover off of my phone by loosening the two screws at the bottom and simply sliding down, took the battery out, and I looked at what was in front of me. I had no idea what was what or what to do. So, I pushed on every piece of hardware in the phone that had connections with either the mic or the ear speaker, and tried calling one of my friends. Shocked beyond belief, it worked. I assumed that something got knocked loose maybe from dropping it, even though my phone has never left it's Otter Box, but now it works fine. My phone was over a year old, and my apple warranty was void anyways, but doing this will NOT void a current eligible warranty. I hope this helps someone else that couldn't find a way to fix their phone.

The same thing happened to my daughter. She got an Iphone 4 last Christmas so the iphone is still under the 1 year garantie. The speakers didn't work after 5 months. There was no water damage or drop damage, so they replaced the iphone. But the new iphone had the same microphone problem described here in this discussion. The microphone didn't work. I brought it back the next day they told my daughter and me to do a software update and try it again. My daughter called support of Swisscom our telephone service provider and they did a reset to factory settings for the networking. It still didn't work. My daughter took her iphone to a camp for listening to music. She brought it back after her week camp. We sent the iphone in and the Apple iphone service center first said it was water damaged then they changed their story to a drop damaged based on the scratches found at one of the corners of the iphone. They then took pictures and said my daughter dropped her iphone and I have to buy a new one for 316 Sfr. All the time from the accusation of water damage to the drop damaged accusation my daughter never had the phone in her hands it was all the time at the repair service center! She was using a rented phone provided from the sales shop! I have tried all avenues, called up the service center and apple direct. Everyone said they don't think they can help me because it is a drop damage!! I think if Apple continues to cover up weaknesses in their phones by doubting the integrity of their customers and lowering the quality of their service then it's going to loose a big chunk of their once loyal customers who are dissatisfied. I am very upset! I have an iphone 3 it works like a charm and I wanted to get the new iphone but after this oddessy...I am not sure that I would even consider buying from apple! I wrote this on another discussion forum topic because we are not isolated cases. I hope an apple support person sees this forum and react to it positively. We have speakers and music boxes (speakers) only specific for Iphones/Ipods like ihome, speaker docking stations.

I too have just faced this problem in the last 2 days, I've had the iphone4 for just under a year. I can;t find a solution in this forum. Funny thing though is I am able to make calls with skype and viber via a wifi no problem, people can hear me and I can hear them. But when I receive or make calls via my network I can only here the other person and they can not here me. Very frustrating

I have the SAME EXACT PROBLEM!!! my iPhone 4 is 3 weeks out of warranty!!! Anyone have a good answer to this? Seems like a hardware issue because people on the other end say sometimes they hear static and computer modem garble and then I'm gone....Stupid! Apple needs to do something if there are this many people with the same problem! My iPhone is now an email/internet browser for life!?!?

Iphone 4 people cant hear me during calls.
