Iphone 4 people cant hear me during calls.

Same problem here, i have IOS 4.0.1 Its there anybody that upgrade to 4.02 o 4.1 a fix the problem?

Isn't the fact that the mic works in other apps except on phone calls a sign of a software glitch? I have the same problems with calls to others who cannot hear me when the phone is near my ear, on speakerphone, or bluetooth. I have also performed the usual troubleshooting tips with the same results: sporadic success with people hearing me on phone calls...

I have exactly the same problem! Mic works in every app, including Skype but on Calls it doesn't work!

I've tried everything - Restore, update, etc... I an now on 4.1 and doesn't work!

I've bought in UK and do I have to go to UK to solve this issue as the IP4 in my country is only sold by operators?

I had the same problem and delivered the phone to a certified Apple reseller. Still waiting to get the phone back.

Just a stupid workaround, if you shake your iPhone during a call the other side can hear you perfect

Same thing started today on my wife's iPhone 4 that she's had less than a month...Have tried all of the "genius" bar suggestions...Update, restart, restore, remove, replace, blah, blah...No luck. I'm a big Mac supporter but I can't stand when this happens from time to time with their new products that obviously have hardware defects and it takes them FOREVER to even acknowledge it, much less deal with it. Apple, GET THIS FIXED!!!!!

I received my iPhone4 today; I was able to make one call and then it died. I restored it twice but it does not work. Is it a hardware problem?

I left mine at an authorized repair center... let's see what they have to say! 2 years with a 3G and no problem...1 month with a 4 and....

As with somebody else, I tried everything and found out.... tapping the phone on a table seems to bring my voice back. I can hear everything the other person is saying, but they cannot hear me. I have to tap my phone on a table to get them to hear me. After that, I constantly have to ask if they can hear me because it inevitably goes out within a minute, sometimes shorter. I am just glad I am not making important calls!! My phone is amazing in every other way, but this is a major problem.

Infact is a hardware problem, is the connectos inside the iPhone that have the problem. A friend of mine had that problem in his new iphone and we just opened it and what we did was to unplug all connectors and plug them again and everything worked fine again. The problem started when he droped the iphone accidentaly.

Of cuorse this voids the warranty.
Also this steps came from a trusted source ( employer of apple) that he knows.
