High Res Photo Sync?

When iTunes 'optimizes' my photos, it reduces their resolution to the iPad's screen size. I want it to keep them at their current resolution so I can zoom in and still see a decent amount of detail. Is this currently possible? If so, how would I go about doing this.

There are 3rd party apps that allow you to manage photos on the ipad without using the standard photo app. Not all these apps "optimize" the photos.

Search the apps store for "photo manager" and read the writeups and reviews.
