Fonts with zero K size

Im sure there have been multiple post about this problem but I need help. I recently upgraded to an imac with snow leopard 10.6.4. I have font folders containing purchased fonts on my server, however the file size shows up as zero k and I can not use them on the new system.

I have came across one way to get around this problem. I can start up my old mac and create an archive of that font and pull the archive to the new mac and when I unarchive it the file is useable.

However, Im not going to have the old mac for much longer, and I am constantly getting new fonts I need to be able to use for jobs from customers.

Anyone have a solution???

It must be a Windows server, then. The Mac file system has a dual structure; a data fork and resource fork. Windows is a singular data fork structure. Mac Type 1 PostScript, and legacy Mac TrueType fonts contain all of their font data in the resource fork. Since there is no way for a Windows drive to store that data, it is simply lost. Hence your zero k fonts. All fonts on that drive are now useless.

That is the solution for all of your Mac fonts. Put every font on that old Mac onto something you can carry over to the new Mac. A CD, flash drive or external hard drive. Just make sure whatever you use is formatted as a Mac HFS+ volume.
