Extra line

i wish I knew that I’d have to purchase an extra line to use my Apple Watch :( no one shared that with me while I was purchasing.


to receive texts you need an extra line? Probably wouldn’t have purchased if someone from Apple would have told me that when I purchased

What do you mean an extra line. If you pair your Apple Watch with your iPhone, you do not need an extra line. However, to use the Watch without the paired iPhone nearby and you have a cellular version of the Apple Watch, you would need to have activated it with your carrier. In the US, it is just an add-on plan, not a separate line. Currently the price with AT&T is $10/month. It is not a separate number, as the Watch eSIM uses your current number. I have read that in some countries, it is considered a line, even though it is a copy of your current SIM in the phone.
