How do you add a cell in Numbers?
Excel offers this simple option in the Insert menu, but I don't see this in Numbers.

you can insert a row or column
by using the key combinations:
add a new row above: <option> + <up arrow>
add a new row below: <option> + <down arrow>
add a new column after: <option> + <right arrow>
add a new row before: <option> + <left arrow>
Yes. I understand. you can use the combination of suggestions to get what you want but there is no built0in feature to insert a single cell in a select row or column.
you can post feedback to Apple using the Numbers menu item "Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback"
Hi generdude,
In Numbers, you can drag adjacent cells to leave a blank cell behind.
Suppose you want to insert a cell above C3.
Select the C3 and the cells below (but leave a blank row below).
Hard click and hold. The selection will "lift" off the table. Drag it down.

Ian.
That works. But I have over a hundred rows of entries. So I need to select and move over a hundred cells just to enter one single solitary cell? Yikes!
Yes, but I have two columns, so if I insert a row, it affects both columns. Then I'll have an unwanted extra row in the second column.
Alright, then, thanks to everyone here and I will post to Apple.
