I had my locations shared indefinitely with my boyfriend

Since my locations was being shared with him, it would send a notification in imessage to indicate when i have stopped sharing my locations. however, i got into a fight with him, i didn’t want to receive the messages from him so i put my phone on airplane mode, while on airplane mode i had blocked him! when i blocked him while on airplane mode, a notification came up that in order to stop sharing locations i must be connected to wifi. however, i know when you block someone it automatically sends the imessage notification in the conversation of your messages that indicate when locations were stopped sharing. however this did not happen in this case. i still have him blocked but i don’t want to stop sharing locations with him. can he still see where i am ?
