I have a 2016 Acura RDX with Technology package. I traded in my iPhone 6 Plus for the new XR. The Acura sees my bluetooth phone name but it cannot PAIR with the XR. Obviously there is something in the 12.1.1 IOS that needs to be updated so a pairing can occur.
Is APPLE going to do anything? Previous threads I have read about issues with the IOS 11 and 12 did not get to a solution.

The first thing I would try is to completely forget the device on your phone and in the vehicle. I am guessing you just restored from a backup from your old phone. After doing that, try to set it up again from scratch. If that doesn't work then you'll want to contact the dealer to see if a firmware update has been released to support the new iPhone devices or if one will be released. There are very, very few cases where an iOS update fixes this kind of issue. It's typically the system itself and isn't the iOS version. You'll find that it's also not just something that happens with iPhones. You can read in Android boards where the same issue occurs.

I sat in my SUV with it running, then did an Apple reboot. when the phone came back on the connection was made and the phone synced up perfectly! I guess when something doesn't work, reboot!!!

Possibly that the car doesn't support the BT version off the phone? You're better off contacting Apple support directly on the phone or live chat bud
