Macbook Pro with Touch Bar Graphics/LCD issue

Hi,

My MacBook Pro has suddenly developed a black/discolored bar at the bottom of the screen. It started out a few pixels tall, but it's growing. Have attached a picture.

I wondered if anyone had seen this before, and if it's a problem with the logic board, or a problem with the LCD itself (the screen is 100% undamaged)?

It's literally only just out of warranty, and I'm worried that Apple will make me pay to repair it.

Seems like a £1700 laptop should last longer than a year, but I'm not sure how to argue that since I've no idea what the problem is!

If anyone knows what this weird bar is, I'd really appreciate any pointers!

Hi, again,

I think your MacBook Pro has LCD panel problem.

You'd better make Genius Bar reservation or take your MacBook Pro to Apple authorized service provider to check it up.

Hi,

If you connect your MacBook Pro to external monitor and there is no black line at the bottom of screen, it might be LCD panel problem.

I've just connected it to my TV, and there's no line at all.

So I guess that means it's the LCD rather than the logic board?

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll do that.

The laptop recently had the keyboard replaced due to another fault. Is it possible the problem was caused when they did that?
