How do you get rid of a VPN subscription

I started a free trial on a VPN app and had money on my account and so after the free VPN subscription ended I deleted the app but a couple of days later I got emails saying billing method has been payed and so the VPN has been taking money from me and I didn’t even know how do I get rid of the subscription
