External Hard Drives

Hi there.

I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) running with Mojave 10.14.1. Ever since I upgraded the Mac to High Sierra, I've been having several issues with my external drives (coming from different manufacturers). They lag, take a lot of time to preview, rarely allow for a clean eject and when they do, it takes quite a bit.

These disks used to run great before the OS Upgrade and now drive me crazy. Anyone can help me?

Thank you.

I suggest you use the program created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  It will provide a snapshot of your system which we can analyze to possibly determine the cause of your problem. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

Hi Leroy,

What's with all those programas? Always had them and with no issues at all...

I did a SafeBoot, same thing happened. Also, it's taking a lot of time for the discs to mount...

And it almost seems like I have to to everything in the right sequence for them to mount correctly. Plug in the USB-C to USB Adapter, External drive, External drive cable, etc. The mac detects the external disk but doesn't mount them.

This is really annoying and makes my workflow go mad.
