The Eclipse MP3 player (at least the model I am familiar with) can play MP3 or WMA formats, but cannot play AAC format files. If you have any AAC music that you have purchased from the iTunes Store, you must first convert it to MP3 per this guide:

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204310 And as noted by Phil, they must be regular audio files, not Apple Music.

Once you are sure the music is in MP3 format, connect the player to your computer and add the files via drag-n-drop or copy/paste. You cannot use iTunes for this step.

Purchased Music from the iTunes Store, as well as tracks added to the iTunes library from other sources can be downloaded and transferred to any device.

Music from the Apple Music subscription service is DRM protected and cannot really be played outside of iTunes.
