'content not authorized' on iTunes for random songs on iphone

I have a playlist that is kicking up this on both wifi and cellular:

I followed some other advice making sure music was set to cellular in the hopes that would fix it and it didn't. Also signed in and out of icloud and restarted phone...

Same playlist works fine on itunes (via the cloud not downloaded).

any thoughts?

Hi boloney,

I see that you're getting a "Cannot Open. This content is not authorized." error on your iPhone when you try to listen to a specific playlist. I also see that this playlist works fine in iTunes, you've tried Wi-Fi and cellular connections, restarted your iPhone and signed out and back in to iCloud. I know it's important to be able to listen to your playlists on all devices using Apple Music; I'd like to help. First, I'd suggest using this resource to check if there are any restrictions on music playback: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

If you don't see any restrictions enabled, or changing this setting to allow all music doesn't help with the behavior, use the steps below to update iCloud Music Library on your computer and on your iPhone:

  • In iTunes on your computer select from the dropdown menu in the upper left corner of iTunes or your screen, File > Library > Update iCloud Music Library; wait for the update to complete.
  • On your iPhone tap Settings > Music > tap to disable iCloud Music Library, wait a moment, then tap to enable again.
  • Allow some time for your library to sync back to your iPhone and test the playlist again

Let me know what you find.

Best Regards.
