There are various third party add-ons that will display the date as well as the time. One such is iStatMenus
https://bjango.com/mac/istatmenus/
No link with the company just a long satisfied customer.
As Old Toad pointed out, the setting is in System Preferences > Date & Time. Not in Language & Region.
I did click on the ok button.
I ran Disk first aid & restarted the computer & then reset the date in advanced language & region in Sys pref.
I'm running Mojave
None of the above suggestions worked so far.
Thank you
I found it.
I had come across the date in Language & region & looked no further.
Thanks for your help!
'm PC person who just bought my first iMac & am tripping around finding my way around.
System Preferences/Language & Region/Advanced/Dates/Times
The date doesn't show up on my menu bar
Did you click the the ok button in the settings?
Run Disk First Aid. Restart your computer. Try the date again when done if it does not show up.
Which os version are you running?
Yes, I clicked the ok button on the date selection.
I'm running Mojave.
I"ve just run the disk first aid & will restart.
You're welcome. The transition is not always easy.
This is the checkbox you checked, correct?
If that a doesn't get the time to show boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and check again. If necessary recheck the box there and reboot normally.
