Safari

Safari not able to open. Safari does not work with current version of OS X. Everything worked prior to updates from App store and downloading Office 365

Help! Safari not working after update to OS 10.10.5 Has anyone had this problem? My mother was prompted to do the latest update (to OS 10.10.5) and update her Safari, but now her Safari has a cross through it and won't open. It says "You can't use this version of the application "Safari" with this version of OS X". Has anyone had anyting similar? It seems odd that Mac would offer an upgrade that makes its own products obsolete... Any advice would be much appreciated!

Safari says it cannot open because it doesn I cannot open Safari on my mac.

appears there is an issue with OS X 10.10.5 with the latest iTunes update that's causing issues with Safari. Can you confirm you are running OS X Yosemite? Also, is it possible to update to a later version of macOS?

Try holding the Shift key while starting Safari.
