Alesis DM10 MKII Drums with Logic Pro X, Hi Hat doesn’t Work

My hi hat doesn't work with my Alesis DM10 MKII plugged in via USB to my MacBook Pro using Logic Pro X, 10.2.2.

Has anyone found a simple solution for this?

If I replaced my Alesis DM10 MKII drums with the equivalent Roland drums will this solve the problem? (With the V-Drum setting in Drum Kit Designer I would think so).

Thank you in advance. I want to keep writing and recording songs and leave the programming to someone else with a talent for that sort of thing!

I've seen a similar issue being discussed here before. As far as electronic drums are concerned, this hat issue has something to do with MIDI mapping of drum plugins, and not the hardware per se. So, I'd suggest to look at what MIDI note is being triggered by the hat pad (Logic's LCD screen should display incoming notes). Most likely, no sound is mapped to that note, so you may have to reprogram DM10's brain accordingly (so that it sends the correct MIDI note) OR tweak percussion plugins you're using with the DM10, by assigning the hat sound to the note being triggered. Whatever is easier for you.
