iCloud contacts - can't sync with Mac

I have an Ipad2, two iPhones and a MacBook Pro.

New contacts and edits made to contacts (on iCloud) made to the phones and iPads sync almost immediately, but somehow it does not sync with my Mac contacts.

Curiously, when I enter a new contact on my mac (default set to iCloud), the new contact syncs with the phones and iPad; but any modification on the iPad and iPhones can't sync back to the mac.

Any clues?
